Laura Elaine Williams Evans Smith, 78 passed away peacefully at a local care facility on Saturday, February 21, 2009. She was born on June 13, 1930 in Pocatello, Idaho to Grant and Lois (Albiston) Williams, the second of four children.

Laura was raised in Arbon Valley, McCammon and Arimo, Idaho. She married LeLand Evans, Jr. on June 15, 1949 in Arimo, ID, and they went on to have four children.

Laura was a licensed cosmetologist and owned a beauty shop in McCammon for a number of years, then later a barber shop at numerous locations in Idaho. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework. She was an avid rock collector and amateur photographer. She really enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was camping, hunting, taking pictures, or long drives taking in the scenery.

Laura is survived by two daughters, Laura Ann (Jim) Shepherd and Joyce (Lynn) Barrus, both of Pocatello, Idaho; one son, Lyle (Colleen) Evans of Boise, Idaho; one sister, Corin (Don) Meyer of Malad, Idaho; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; her husband and one son.

Funeral services for Laura E Smith will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4th Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho. There will be a visitation held at the funeral home also on Saturday 1 hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Marsh Center Cemetery in Robin, Idaho.
