Albert Louis Rabenstein
Albert Louis Rabenstein, age 80 of Washington, died Friday, February 24, 2012 in the Washington Hospital. He was born May 20, 1931 in East Liverpool, OH, a son the late Albert Louis Rabenstein, Sr. and Eunice Allison Rabenstein. Although born in Ohio, the family home was in Chester, WV. He attended public schools in Chester and graduated from Washington and Jefferson College in 1952. He earned a MS degree from West Virginia University in 1953 and a PhD from M.I.T. in 1958, both in mathematics. After teaching at several colleges, he returned to W & J in 1972 and was chairman of the Mathematics Department until his retirement in 1990. He was the author of two textbooks on mathematics. Surviving is a brother, Richard B. Rabenstein of Washington. All services will be private. Memorial contributions may be directed to either Washington and Jefferson College or to the Citizens' Library, 55 South College Street, Washington, PA 15301.
