Death of Simon Olson
Simon C. Olson was born in Norway, August 26, 1823, and was left an orphan when young. He came to the United States and settled in Jefferson county, Wis. In 1844 he came to Dodgeville, Wis. He made two trips to California returning to Dodgeville in 1859. In 1860 he moved to Wyoming Valley where he resided until his death.

e was married January 3, 1852, to Miss Elizabeth Carpenter, who died Feb. 14, 1890. In 1868 Mr. Olson united with the Congregational church at Wyoming, and remained a faithful member until his death, Dec. 29, 1904, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 3 days.

He leaves two sons and two daughters to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father, besides other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held at the Wyoming church on Sunday, Jan. 1, 1905, and were conducted by the Rev. H. R. Hogan of Spring Green. The remains were laid to rest in the Wyoming cemetery.
