CWO William R. McCoy (Ret.), entered rest on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the age of 81. He was born July 14, 1930 to Ross S. McCoy and Goldie Elizabeth Greathouse in Indianapolis, IN. William served in the United States Army for over 30 years. Upon his retirement he then served as an administrator for the Alamo Community College District for many years. He was also a longtime member of Windcrest United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Marie McCoy and his brother, Jim McCoy. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice V. McCoy; daughter, Elizabeth McCoy Hanson and husband Andre; son, Ronald Kissmann and wife Elie; daughter, Patty Bernard and husband Charlie; son, Dale Jones and wife Josie; son, Norman Jones and wife Sandy. Also left to cherish his memory are his 8 beloved grandchildren. William was loved by many and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 12:00pm at Sunset Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full Army Honors.
