Mrs. Vora Mae Alexander died at Pemiscot County Medical Center in Hayti on January21, 1978. She was 69.
Mrs. Alexander was born November 25, 1908 in Savannah, Tenn.
She was a check clerk for Moore's Grocery for many years and was a dietician at the hospital in Hayti until her retirement. After retirement she worked part-time for Graue Grocery.
Services were held Tuesday, January 24, 1978 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hayti with the Rev. Arkie Wall of Kennett officiating.
A sister, Mrs. Ruth Gianino, of St. Louis preceded Mrs. Alexander in death. She leaves the following: one daughter, Mrs. Betty Johnson of Carbondale, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Reva Nail of Hayti; Mrs. Ruby Vaughn of Lilbourn, Mo.; and Miss Montrue Alexander of Hayti; three grandchildren: Mike Overby of Holland, Ind.; Debbie Payne of Hayti and Jackie Overby of Hayti and six great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery at Steele.
Pallbearers were Clarence (Doodle) Nail, Charles Nail, Jerry R. Alexander, Randall Bonds and Blan Kolwyck.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
