George B. Shrader, well-known retired business man of New Albany died Monday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Q. Naber, Silver Hills, following an illness of a year and a half of paralysis. The body has been removed to Mrs. Naber's city home at 1204 East Spring street. Mr. Shrader was 77 years old. He was engaged in the undertaking business in this city for sixty years, succeeding his father, John Shrader, who had conducted it for many years before. The deceased retired from active business life three years ago, when his son George J. Shrader, took charge of the establishment. Mr. Shrader was widely known here. He conducted his establishment on West Main street. His wife died a number of years ago. He is survived by two sons, George J. Shrader, and W. S. C. Shrader, and four daughters, Mrs. Naber, Mrs. Gertrude Albaugh, Mrs. A. A. Connell and Miss Anna Shrader, all of New Albany. He is also survived by three brothers, John Shrader and Frank Shrader, of New Albany; Edward Shrader of North Yakima, Wash., and five sisters, who are Mrs. Delia Webster, Mrs. Charles Poutch, Mrs. William Holman, of New Albany, and Mrs. Eugene Walker and Mrs. Nolia Gimnich, both of Louisville. - New Albany Tribune 07 Jun 1922
