The Berkshire Eagle..Friday,October 21,1960. ROBERT MCCLINTON WON BRONZE STAR...West Stockbridge: Robert McClinton,61, of Stockbridge Road,died suddenly at his home here last evening. He was born in Kirkcolm,Scotland, November 20,1898. Son of William& Mary(Gribben) McClinton and had lived here for the past 8 years. He was employed by the Lane Trap Rock Corp. A veteran of WWI,he was a member of the Seaforth Highlanders Brigade of the Royal Scots. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. Survivors include his wife,the former Ester Hanson,1 daughter,Mrs. James West(Irene) of Norwood,Ohio,2 step-daughters,Mrs. Agnes Ericson,Mount Vernon,NY, Mrs. William A. Pierson,Massapequia,NY,6 sisters,Mrs. Claire(Mina) Cairnes& Mrs.Mary Legge,Amityville NY, Mrs.Belle French& Mrs. Margaret Bowen,Burlington,VT, Mrs. Jean Lamson,South Burlington,VT and Miss Ruby McClinton of Scotland, 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including William Lamson of Pittsfield. The body rests at the Birches Funeral Home,Great Barrington,where the family will meet friends tonight from 7-9 and tomorrow from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral will be Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. ***********The Berkshire Eagle, Oct.24,1960.. The funeral of Robert McClinton of West Stockbridge was held yesterday afternoon at the Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. The Rev. Robert W. San(rest unreadable),Pastor of the Village Congregational Church of West Stockbridge,officiated. Burial was in Village Cemetery,West Stockbridge.(obit left out 1st wife,Tina MacIntyre,died in 1942 Brooklyn& sister Jessie McClinton of Scotland)****Robert was only 5'5 tall..he looks like a giant compared to his tiny wife Tina!***
