He was born Jan. 4, 1898 in Edgerton, the son of August and Emelia Stark Schachtschneider. He worked as a metallizer at Schuelter's for 28 years retiring in 1966. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #205 and VFW #1621. He served in WWII Army in the Air Corp during the Pacific Theater.
