Born July 14, 1912 in the town of Fulton, Bill was the son of August and Amelia Stark Schachtschneider. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1942 to 1945 with the Signal Radio Intelligence Corps and saw action in both the European and African theaters. An employee of the Rock County Highway Dept. for 35 years, He retired due to ill health 3 years prior to his demise. Bill was a member and past president of the Rock County Employees Credit Union and the Rock County Employee Union.
