Daniel graduated from Williams College, probably in the first class. After graduation, he went to Monkton, Vermont
in 1795. Daniel lived there many years. Daniel was a distinguished physician in Monkton and surrounding areas. He had three sons: Dan Carter Stone (1801-1882), George E. Stone (1803-1876) and Charles Stone (1805-1857). Dan and George became physicians. They later moved to Illinois.
Charles stayed in Monkton and was a farmer.
