The funeral of the late C.D. Ives, son of C.J. Ives, announcement of whose death was made in last evening's Gazette, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services at the Ives home, 820 First avenue, and conducted by Dr. Thomas E. Green of Grace Episcopal church and Dr. E.R. Burkhalter of the First Presbyterian church.
Charles Dale Ives was born in Linn county in 1857, and spent most of his boyhood in Burlington. He came to Cedar Rapids in 1872 and had resided here most of the time since. For a number of years he was general freight agent of the B., C. R. & N. road. He had been ill at St. Luke's hospital for several weeks and his condition began to grow worse on Sunday last and from that time on he rapidly failed, being unconscious most of the time since then till the end came. He leaves a wife and two little daughters. Besides the father mentioned he is also survived by a sister, Mrs. W.W. Douglas. The burial will be in the family tomb in Oak Hill. The deceased was a man of strong intellect, companiable qualities and most generous instincts.
