Betty F. McFarland, 84, of Green River, passed away April 12, surrounded by family.

A resident of Green River, and former resident of Cheyenne, Mrs. McFarland passed away after a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Cheyenne, the daughter of William B. Guthrie and Hazel M. Snyder.

Mrs. McFarland attended school in Cheyenne.

She married Kenneth L. McFarland on April 7, 1945, in Cheyenne, and he preceded her in death in 1991 in Cheyenne.

Mrs. McFarland worked as a fiscal control officer for the state of Wyoming for more than 25 years until her retirement in 1968.

She was a member of the Cheyenne Greater Bridge Club.

Her interests included playing bridge, bingo and dollar slots.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth L. McFarland Jr. and wife, Amanda, of Casper; one daughter, Terry Wood and husband, Hal, of Green River; six grandchildren, Tim Wood and wife, Joey, Tony Wood and companion, Andrea, Kenneth McFarland III and wife, Melissa, Jennifer Roecker-Forbes, Cecelia Haptonstall and Emma Haptonstall; 12 great-grandchildren, Kayla Wood, Skye Munoz, Holly Kofed, Misty Wood, Mariah Wood, Devon McFarland, Sean McFarland, Connor McFarland, Mathew McFarland, Melinda, Kurtis and Koulter; four great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Munoz, Taylynn Munoz, Mikayla Wood and Terrance Wood; and dear friend, Dot French of Mesa, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth McFarland; two brothers, Dick Guthrie and Bob Guthrie; and one sister, Dorothy Strear.
