Services will 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Columbkille Catholic Church for Mary Opatz, 92, who died Monday at Sterling Park Health Care Center, Waite Park.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call on from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Joseph, and one hour before services Friday at the church. Christian Women will pray at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 8.
Mary Opatz was born in Two Rivers Township, Morrison County, to Albert and Frances (Solarz) Maciej. She married Peter Opatz on Oct. 22, 1928, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Bowlus. The couple lived in the St. Wendel area all of their married lives. She was a resident of the Sterling Park Community for the past six years. She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church and Christian Women.
Survivors include her children, Ernest and Claude of St. Wendel, Loretta Evans of St. Cloud, and Marlin of Sartell; 24 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 10, 1982; one grandson; and brothers and sisters, Peter, Joseph, John, Elizabeth Lambert, Theresa and Alois.
Memorials are preferred.
