Son of Heinrich (Henry) Schoppe and Frederica Luetckebrauckmann of Germany. He married Wilhelmina "Minnie" Hoelken on 7 April 1881 in Lunern, Germany. Gustav with his wife Minnie and young daughter immigrated to the U.S. in 1883.

DEATH OF GUSTAVE SCHOPPE

Gustave Schoppe was born May 5, 1857, in West Poll, Germany, and departed this life December 14, 1922. He leaves to mourn his departure a loving wife and two daughters, Mrs. Art Allensworth of LaBelle and Mrs. Lena Peters of Washington, a number of grandchildren and other relatives who still live in Germany.

Rev. Young gave a discourse assisted by Revs. Kemper and Everly. Mr. Schoppe was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and lived a devoted christian life.

He was laid to rest in the Knox City Cemetery December 19, 1922.

Mrs. Schoppe was not physically able to attend the funeral
