John Lee Ellison, a well-known and respected citizen of Hinton, died last evening at 7:40 from pneumonia. He was ill only six days and up to that time was apparently in good health. Mr Ellison was in the prime of life, having started on the 48th year of his life last September 23rd.
Mr Ellison has been a resident of Hinton for some time, coming here from Ellison, W Va, about fifteen years ago. For a number of years after he came to Hinton he was the owner of a general merchandise store situated at the Avis crossing. He sold out several years ago to J M Parker and since then has conducted a taxi service.
Mr Ellison was an ardent republican in his politics and had just been appointed a registrar in the Greenbrier precinct.
A great many close relatives, many of them residents of this city survive Mr Ellison. Three children by his first wife, who was Rosie Lilly, of Ellison, survive, Claude Ellison, of Hinton; Mrs F A Spade, of Hinton, and Ohley Ellison, of Russell, Ky. No children were born to his second union with Miss Ella Harvey, of Flat Top, W Va. His third wife, who was Miss Stella Barker, survives her husband and the two children by this union, Oswald, aged ten and Mary Pauline, aged 8.
