Beverly Ryan Colvin Reese
BENTON, LA
Beverly was born October 9, 1926 in Bossier City, LA, but spent most of her life in the Benton, area. She passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2002 in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of Cypress Baptist Church. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband and father of her two children, Doyle Colvin and husband Lorane Reese; her mother, Ethel Dalrymple Ryan; father Robert Elmer Ryan, Sr. and brother Bob Ryan. She is survived by her son, Valcar Colvin and wife, Nan; daughter, Cathy Colvin Gunstream; four grandchildren, Ginger Gustavson, Glen Colvin, Valerie C. Quarles, Grant Gunstream; three great-grandsons, Sam and Jack Gustavson, J.T. Quarles and one sister, Virginia Callicott of Hope, AR. She was a graduate of Benton High School, a homemaker and later worked for the Bossier Parish School Board for 16 years. She saw all eight members of her family teach in the public schools. She loved music, poetry and sports. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Bossier Saturday, November 23, 2002 from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Services will be conducted by Bro. Robert Beadle. Burial will be held in the Pilkinton Cemetery, near Benton, LA. The family extends a special thank you to the nurses, aides and volunteers at Grace Home.
