ELLEN M. SPANGLE CLAIMED BY DEATH
DAYTON, Oct. 22 - Mrs. Ellen M. Spangle, who was born in New Haven, O., April 28, 1866, died at her home in Dayton, Oct. 18, at the age of 70.
She was the second daughter of Henry and Eliza T. Chapman.
She was married to Ira. M. Baird at Seneca, Kan., in 1884. To this union one daughter was born. Mr. Baird died in 1912. She, with her daughter, came to Dayton in the fall of 1912, and she was married to Zacariah Spangle in April, 1914. He died in September, 1933.
Mrs. Apangle was a member of Security assembly No. 16, United Artisans, of Naomi Rebekah lodge No. 83, and of the Methodist church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Maude Hogle of Klamath Falls, two step-daughters, Mrs. Cora Young of Dallas and Mrs. Lena Wright of Lexington, Ky.; two step-sons, Roy L. Spangle and Charles E., of Pendleton; two grand-daughters, two great-granddaughters; one step-grand son; two sisters, Mrs. Alice M. Hord of Portland, Mrs. Eva L. Baxter, Dayton; one brother, Leland S. Chapman, Seattle, Wash.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church with the pastor, the Rev. Charles Rarick, officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, the Rebekah lodge having charge of the graveside services.
