Callie is the daughter of Joseph W Bell b. c1826 and Nancy Potter b. c1829 of Mississippi the third oldest child of seven. In 1860 the family of six was in Yazoo County, Mississippi. By 1870 they had moved to Bell County, Texas and in 1880 Callie's parents lived in Coryell, Texas with her two youngest siblings: Ella F Bell 14 and Walter L Bell 11.
In 1874 Callie married Lemuel Berry Mayfield when she was 18. He died in 1881 when she was 24. In 1892 Burnet Co, TX Callie age 36 married J T Beard age 44. Seven years later in 1899 they had a daughter, Stella.
With her first husband she had three known children. During her second marriage it is said on John T Beard's memorial they had two children; I have only seen a daughter age 1 and 11 in the 1900 and 1910 Burnet Co, TX censuses.
