Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Chapel for Royal Vern Zike, 76, who died Thursday in a local hospital. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Mausoleum. Mr. Zike, a retired farmer and real estate salesman was a Merced resident since 1959. He was born April 21, 1904 in Iowa and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife, Vera; a son, Vernon Zike of Atwater; a daughter, Janet McCallie of Lodi; a brother, Everett Zike of Yakima, Wash., and two sisters, Ruth Larsen of Lincoln, Neb., and Mary Lane of Oklahoma City, Okla.
