J. W. Bennett, Illinois Central conductor of Jefferson Street Paducah, RY.. died Friday at a hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ill. Mr. Bennett. who was a conductor on a freight train between Paducah and Mt. Vernon was preparing to make his return trip when he had a paralytic stroke. He was rushed to the hospital and died in a few hours.

He was married in 1912 to Miss Verna Lee, daughter of W. H. Lee of this city, who survives him and one daughter Dorothy, his mother. three sisters and mother of Louisville, Ky.

Ho was a member of Baptist Church, also a Mason. Funeral services will be conducted at the home in Paducah, Sunday afternoon but burial will be here at Riverside with short services at grave at 4:30.
