James Monroe Van Fleet was born to parents Henry Switzer Van Fleet and Esther Flandrea Van Fleet in what I believe was 1869. As per the 1900 census, he was 30 years old. This census is the last record of him. He was unmarried and did not have any children. It would appear he died between 1900-1910, as his father's obituary states he died before him. His father passed in 1925, and there is no record of James in the 1910 or 1920 census. Very little is known. I assume he died in the Morrisania area of the Bronx, where his family resided.
