Lafayette Judson Folts
Herkimer July 24th - A native and lifelong resident is lost to the village by the death of Lafayette Judson Folts, who passed away at his residence on North Washington street, having been in ill health for nearly a year.
He was born at the Folts homestead January 10, 1835 and was in his eighty-first year. He was the son of Peter M. and Anna Cole Folts and was the last of his family.
His late wife was Eunice, daughter of Jefferson and Jane Lawton, her death occurring February 18, last. They were married in Fairfield in 1862.
Mr. Folts was a farmer and had served the town in the office of assessor.
He is survived by three children, Mrs. Irving G. McKennan of Freemont, Neb., Charles L. and Miss Jennie Folts of this village and by 7 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday....
