Deceased Name: BELLINGER
BELLINGER, Daniel E. - Of Clio, age 75, died Friday, October 22, 1999 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, October 26, 1999 at Bethany United Methodist church, Rev. Roger Gedcke officiating with burial in Thetford Township Cemetery with military honors under the direction of the Gordon R. Bennett Post 1452 VFW. Friends may call at the Whipple-O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday and Monday from 1-9PM. A VFW Memorial Service will be held at 7PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, McLaren Hospice or the Clio Lions Club. Daniel was born August 6, 1924 in Clio, Michigan, the son of William J. and Zina (Saxton) Bellinger. He had resided in Clio his entire life. Daniel married Cleo Cascarelle November 6, 1943, she preceded him in death October 8, 1997. He then married Eva M. Harmon April 4, 1998. Daniel was a very decorated U. S. Army Veteran, serving during WW II. He was employed with Buick for 40 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of UAW Local 599, life member of American Legion 158 in Clio, VFW Post #1452 and the D.A.V. in Flint. He was also a charter member of the Clio Lions Club and was a former trustee of Thetford Township. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, the outdoors and traveling. Surviving are: wife, Eva; son, Rev. Daniel Charles and wife Connie Bellinger of Sheridan; daughters, Jane and husband Sam Morgan of Clio, Julie and husband Bob Chambers of Flint, Cathy and husband Charles Gravitt of Lakeview; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis and wife Helene Bellinger of Clio; sister, Neva Johnson of Clio; step-children, Kenny Harmon, Janis Kangas, Mark Harmon; 7 step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Daniel was also preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Lee Bellinger, brother, William G. Bellinger; sister, June A. Brock.
