Alvin Ringquist, 74, Marshfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he was admitted from Three Oaks Nursing Home. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Alvin J. Ringquist was born on Feb. 12, 1932, in the town of Brighton, Marathon County, to Earl and Gladys (nee Korntved) Ringquist. He married Mary K. Merkel on June 4, 1982, in Marshfield. He grew up in the town of Brighton where he farmed. After his schooling, he moved to Madison where he also worked as a farmer. During the Korean Conflict, he worked at the Baraboo Ammunition Plant until moving to Marshfield. He worked as a forklift operator for Rollohome until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping and being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; five children, Gregory (Cindy) Ringquist, Liberty Hills, Texas, Susan Ringquist, Pocatello, Idaho, James Ringquist, Auburndale, Dawn Ringquist, Wausau, and David (Deana) Ringquist, Black Foot, Idaho; their mother, Jean Dahl, Loyal; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Ray (Marion) Ringquist, Grand Rapids, Mich.; three sisters, Betty Potter, Wisconsin Rapids, Yvonne (Ron) Weis, Davis, Ill., and Garnell (Harland) Powers, Oshkosh.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one grandson, Sam Ringquist; and one sister, Elaine Golden.
