William Riley Hall was a Civil War Veteran. He joined Company A 21st Iowa Volunteer Infantry on June 27, 1862. He was wounded, shot in the right leg, on July 11, 1863 in Jackson Mississippi. It was a wound that plagued him the rest of his life. He died after a 15 day stay at the V.A. hospital in Kansas, at the age of 91 years.
