Janis was born on August 31, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA. Janis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted friend. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She lived her life to the fullest, displaying great courage and grace. Her family and friends were always close to her heart. Her love and generosity were infinite and will continue to live in the hearts of everyone she touched. Janis was an amazing and exceptionally accomplished realtor for over 20 years in the Fredericksburg area. During that time she was honored with many awards and professional accolades.
Janis is survived by her husband, Andrew James Shannon; six children Aaron Atteberry and wife, Claudia, Holly Nelson and husband, Ted, Michelle Brewer and husband Jason, Jason Shannon and wife Linda, Michael Shannon and wife, Tina and Heather Hamm and husband, Daren; mother Florence Spinneweber; brother Ron Holbert; sister-in-law Dee Holbert; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday April 10 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 11 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
