Stephen Greenwalt Maret son of Stephen and Sarah Greenwalt Maret, was born on a farm near Maysville, Mo. Feb. 19, 1863 and passed away in the home of his daughter, Mrs. B.F. Wolf, in Longmont, Colo., Dec. 12, 1960 at the age of 97 years, 9 months and 23 days. Mr. Maret spent his entire life in DeKalb County, with the exception of the last 6 years which was in the home of his daughter, Mrs. B.F. Wolf in Longmont, Colo.

In 1882 Mr. Maret was united in Marriage to Lucinda Craham. To this union 4 children were born. His wife, and 2 children, an infant son, Henry and Mrs. Malinda Burnie, which preceded him in death. He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Etta Wolf, Longmont, Colo., and Mrs.
Eliza Wolf, Overton, Nebr. and one granddaughter, Mrs. Dallas Dunham, who was raised in his home, 8 other grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Ira Maret, Longmont, Colo.

Mr. Maret was a kindly understanding man, who especially loved children, and one who was ever ready to do his best to make the way easier for those less fortunate than himself.

Services were at 2 o'clock Sat. afternoon, Dec. 17, at the Pilcher Funeral Home in Maysville with the Rev. Herbert Lewellen, officiating. Mrs. Earl Hubble furnished organ music during the services.

Internment was in the Woods Cemetery. Pallbearers were J.B. Cunningham, Jess Graham, Donald Wolf, Brisco Durnham, Haden Maret and Lonnie Ginn.
