Two Popular Brainerd Young People
Are United in Marriage.

One of the pleasant social events of the season occurred at the First Methodist Episcopal church, Brainerd, on Tuesday evening, April 30th, when Miss Leslie Stillings, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stillings, was united in marriage to Mr. James F. Casey, one of our popular young men, a machinist in the N. P. shops.
The church was beautifully decorated with palms, roses, carnations, violets, and smilax for the occasion. The drapings on pulpit and altar rail were of white silkoline, the mingling of which produced a very pretty effect.
Promptly at 8:30 p. m. the bridegroom, accompanied by Mr. Alex. McCarthy, arrived, followed immediately by the bride leaning on the arm of her father, and attended by Miss Anna Grossman, with little Gladys Cooper performing her part well as flower girl.
The bridal party were received at the door by Mssrs. Will Georgeson and Ed. Morrison, acting as ushers. Mr. Morrison preceding the bridegroom and his attendant, and Mr. Georgeson the bride and her attendants, the party walked slowly down each aisle to the strains of the wedding march efficiently played on the piano by Miss Bertie Robinson, who continued playing during the service. At the altar they were met by the Rev. J. Clulow and Mrs. Clulow, who in the presence of a large gathering of invited guests and other friends, read the service that united the happy couple for life, the ring ceremony being used.
Following the service at the church a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, at the corner of 10th and Kingwood streets, at which about 100 guests tendered their congratulations to the newly married couple.
The bride and bridegroom were the recipients of numerous and valuable presents, consisting of a china closet, rocking chairs, silverware, cut glass, household linen, etc., etc.
Mrs. Stillings, mother of the bride, assisted by Mesdames C. M. Richardson, R. Georgeson and J. B. Williams, received the guests and served a dainty lunch.
The bride and bridegroom amidst a shower of rice and old shoes, left on the midnight train to spend part of their honey moon in the Twin Cities.
