Frank Pangerl, 85, of Lincoln died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at 10:15 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lincoln, with the Rev. R. Anthony Lee officiating.
No visitation is scheduled.

Mr. Pangerl was a lifelong carpenter. He retired in 1986.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was born on March 8, 1921, in Lincoln to Alois and Marie Schmitmeyer Pangerl, who were immigrants from Europe. He married Helen Grubb Farmer on March 25, 1956, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 1990.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Jiggs and Pete; and seven sisters, Bertha, Rose, Ann, Helen, Mary, Elizabeth and Catherine. He was the last member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his stepson, Roland (and Mary) Farmer of Lincoln; three step- grandchildren, Garin Farmer, Amy Daugherty and Brianne Vecchia; and five step-great-grandchildren, Amber, Marcus, Devan, Daisy and Lilli.
He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1940.
He served in the South Pacific, including Iwo Jima, and was awarded two Bronze Service Stars, a Pacific Theatre Campaign Ribbon, a Philippines Liberation Ribbon, two Overseas Service Bars and an American Theatre Campaign Ribbon.
Mr. Pangerl loved to garden and give away his produce to neighbors and friends. He was a loving and giving man to his family and will be greatly missed by them.
