Biddie (Mrs. Walter) Kroenke, 90, a former resident of 731 Lincoln Ave., Faribault, died Saturday, March 16 at the St. Lucas Care Center following an extended illness. Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour, with the Very Rev. Thomas Winkler, dean of the Cathedral, officiating. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Parker-Kohl Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday until the hour of services. It is the wish of the family that any memorials be directed to the Cathedral Altar Guild.
Lavina Sutherland, the daughter of David and Martha McGhee Sutherland, was born in Silkville, Kan., on Dec. 29, 1894. She married Walter H. Kroenke on Oct. 27, 1915 at Ottawa, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1960. Mrs. Kroenke had been the bailiff at the Rice County Courthouse for more than 24 years, had operated the Bloodmobile canteen for many years and had been active in the Rice County District One Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie (Mrs. Harold) Keller of Faribault; a son, Walter L. (Bud) Kroenke of St. Louis Park; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, David K. Sutherland of Titusville, Fla.; a sister, Katie (Mrs. H.L.) Jacobson of Newton, Kan. and other relatives. She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard and three sisters, Leona Husted, Lorena Curby and Ida Purdy.
