Wilber DeWitt "Dee" Richardson, 77, Jerico Springs, died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, in Barton County Memorial Hospital, Lamar. He was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Locke, Ark., Crawford County, to Wilber and Jennie Richardson. Mr. Richardson was a carpenter and farmer. He helped build homes in the Kansas City and Stockton Lake areas.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was one of five divers for the Army, whose job was to weld and repair the large ships, working underwater.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Richardson, and stepson Joe Kaderly, both of the home; five children, Mark Richardson of Jerico Springs, Janette Perryman, Donald Richardson, and W.D. Richardson, all of Arkansas, and Annette Jeffries of Oklahoma; six stepchildren, Cindy Appel, Karen McGrath, David McGrath, Christine Stewart, Roy D. Kaderly, and Brenda Jeffries; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews in California and one in Arkansas.
Mr. Richardson was a member of the First Christian Church in El Dorado Springs.
Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, in First Christian Church, El Dorado Springs, with burial in El Dorado Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Brumback Funeral Home.
