Lillian F. (Reopelle) Harrison, 91, formerly of Chicopee, died peacefully surrounded by her family in Harwich, MA. She was born in Chicopee on March 18, 1921 to Edward and Rose (Taupier) Reopelle. Lillian was a graduate of Chicopee High School and Holyoke Business School. Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, George D. Harrison who died May 9, 2007. She is survived by her two daughters, Doreen Dooley and her husband, Charles, of South Hadley and Gail Murphy and her husband, Richard, of Dennisport. Lillian also leaves five beloved grandchildren, Christopher Dooley, Amy McAweeney and Timothy, Brendan and Megan Murphy. She was a Great Nana to Kiley and Haley McAweeney. Lillian was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters. She is also survived by her loving sister, Yvonne E. Valiton, a sister-in-law, Geraldine Santos, brothers-in-law, Joseph Santos and George Vershon, along with many nieces nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A former employee of Chicopee Savings bank, she was the coordinator of the Elementary Savings Program for the students attending Chicopee schools. While raising her family in Chicopee, Lillian was a Girl Scout Leader, was a communicant of Holy Name church and a member of the Church's Rosary Sodality. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 beginning at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee at 10 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated by Holy Name Parish at the former Assumption Church, 104 Springfield St., Chicopee at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donatins in Lillian's memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
