Julia "Julie" L. Bergemann, 83, of Freeport died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, in her home. She was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Stockton, the daughter of Bryan and Julia (Miller) Mc Peek.
On June 19, 1948, Julie married Alvin E. Bergemann in Freeport. He died Oct. 17, 2003. Mrs. Bergemann was employed by Micro Switch. She was a member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport.
Surviving are three sons, Donald (Linda) Bergemann of Tarpon Springs ,Fla., Charles "Charlie" Bergemann of Seattle, Wash., and David (June) D.V.M. Bergemann of Lena; one daughter, Terese (Paul) Hoefer of Freeport; two brothers, Lawrence Mc Peek of Stockton and Robert (Maria) Mc Peek of Stockton; three sisters, Margaret (William ) Donnelly of Freeport, Eleanor (Jim) DeNure of Loves Park, and Marie (John) Glees of Rockford; ten grandchildren, Meredith (Daniel) Whelan, Brandon (Sharon) Bergemann, Kristi (Sean Rothell, fiancé) Bergemann, Brittney Bergemann, Nicholas Bergemann, Sarah (Clayton) Goeke, Timothy Bergemann, Michael Bergemann, Kelsey and Max Hoefer; five great great grandchildren, Ryder and Gavin Bergemann, Cohen and Kadyn Goeke and Clara Whelan.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Bergemann; brothers, Richard and Kenneth.
Funeral Mass for Mrs. Bergemann will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport. Msgr. P. William McDonnell will officiate.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Saint Thomas.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
