Richard was the son of James Larkin Gallimore (or Galimore/Galemore, among various other spellings) and Susan (Throgmorton) Gallimore.

He married Eliza Jane Throgmorton in Henry CO, TN on January 15, 1855.

Richard & Eliza, along with many other families from Benton, Carroll & Henry Counties in TN, moved to Southern Illinois on the eve of the civil war, first to Williamson County, IL, and then to Jackson Co, IL.

By 1880 the family had moved to Randolph County, Arkansas.

Birth date is taken from the 1900 Federal Census Records, Randolph CO, Arkansas, Siloam township.

Death date is taken from Galemore family records.

According to the 1900 Federal census Record, Richard and his wife, Eliza, had three children who died young. The burial locations of these children are not known. They are most likely buried in IL in unmarked graves.

Per Cemeteries & Burial Sites of Randolphy County: A chart of the burial sites was found in a shed on the cemetery grounds which contained this name for which no stone could be found (Rich Galemore.)
