Frank Meek, Retired Business Man, Dies

Frank Hale Meek, an operator of the Frank Meek Paper Co. for 16 years before his retirement in 1942, died yesterday afternoon at his home on Lowe's Ferry Pike. He was 81.

Mr. Meek, a direct descendant of John Sevier, first governor of Tennessee, was born in Jonesboro, Tenn., in 1867. His early school days were spent at the old Bell House School on West Main Avenue.

Before he organized his paper company, he worked as city salesman for a wholesale grocery firm here. Before his retirement, he was an active member and past grand counselor of the United Commercial Travelers. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Despite his age, the elderly Knoxvillian enjoyed good health until last Thursday when he suffered a stroke.

He leaves the widow, Mrs. AImena Smith Meek; and a son, B. L. Meek, both of Knoxville.

Services will be at 10:30 a tomorrow at the Mann Chapel. Burial in Old Gray Cemetery.
