Alice A. "Boogie" Molett, 94, a resident of Utica for 70 years, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, in Troy. She was born Aug. 23, 1911, in Newport, Ark. Mrs. Molett retired as a janitor for General Motors Corp. She loved to cook and relatives said she was especially well known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed traveling and family gatherings, and treasured her family.
She is survived by her children, Charles (Barbara) Molett, Alice Liz Burns, Raymond (Andrea) Molett, Anita Tipton and Janice Keen; siblings, Frances Alvis of Arkansas, Helen Bender of Eastpointe and Anitabelle (Bill) Wilham; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Baxter "Jack" Molett, on April 19, 1978. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (three blocks east of Van Dyke), Utica, with the Rev. Howard Casey, Shelby Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy
