Mrs. Ledbetter was a 20-year employee of The Muncie Star and Muncie Evening Press, where she was a telephone operator and receptionist.
She was born in Watauge, Ky. and lived for a time in Anderson before coming to Muncie 40 years ago. She attended schools in Kentucky and New Castle.
Surviving are three daughters, Jimmie Y. Hammond and Patricia A. Dixon, both of Muncie, and Kaye Osborne, Florence, Ariz.; a son, James Ledbetter, Grabill; a brother, Arnold Wallen, Mount Summit; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Parson Mortuary-Wheeling Avenue Chapel. Rev. Herbert Wingard, pastor of Avondale United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
