BROOKS PIONEER PASSES AT IONE
Funeral Services For T.B. Pyles Conducted Thursday P.M.

Final rites for Timothy B. Pyles , 86 year old Brooks county farmer of the Ione section who died Wednesday at his rural home after a brief illness, were conducted Thursday afternoon from Hopewell Church. Rev. Swain and Rev. Baldwin had charge of the services.

Mr. Pyles was born Sept. 22, 1853, near Ione in Brooks county and spent his entire life as a resident of that neighborhood. He died at his home where he had been located for a quarter century. Pneumonia was listed as the immediate cause of death.

He was widely known throughout upper Brooks county and in southern Colquitt.
His parents were G.B. Pyles and Mrs. Basher Pyles. Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Sarah Pyles; two sons, W. H. Pyles and L. B. Pyles, of Pavo; six daughters, Mrs. J. H. Plymel, Mrs. Minnie Hiers, Mrs. J. M. Merritt, Mrs. J. R. Glass, Mrs. L. L. Burgess all of the Ione section, and Mrs. L. A. Akins of Quitman. Mr. Pyles was a member of the Methodist church at Ione.

Pallberaers included Rufus Merritt, Harrell Burgess, Ed Merritt, Richard Pyles, Stanly Pyles and Layton Glass, all grandsons.
