ALLEN, Henry E. was born January 27, 1842 in Deerfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts the son of Daniel Smead Allen and Miranda Kingsbury. He married Mary J. Waite December 25, 1862 in DuPage County, Illinois and they were the parents of eight children, Carrie Estella, Harry E., George Albert, Francis Revere, Lydia Maude, Hattie Louise, George Randall and Wealthy May. He was a laborer and worked in a mill in Colorado and then as a gold miner. He was a veteran of the Civil War and served in Company K of the 36th Illinois Infantry. He was a member of Wheaton Lodge No. 269, Wheaton, Illinois and was exalted a Royal Arch Mason July 11, 1866 in Euclid Chapter No. 13. He died January 25, 1908 in Littleton, Arapahoe County, Colorado and was buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Denver, Denver County, Colorado.
