Passed away Monday, October 6, 1997. Jean was born in Allegan County on March 29, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle Brown. She enjoyed entertainment. On May 1, 1954, she married Kenneth L. Kirk, who preceded her in death on March 31, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Grace. Surviving are six children, Eugene Abrams of Paw Paw, Kenneth Abrams of Comstock, Karen Lea (Kirk) Suglia of Paw Paw, Kenneth Eugene Kirk of Sturgis, James Nathan Kirk of Gobles, and Terry Lee Kirk of Lansing; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ellis Brown of Oak Lawn, IL; 2 sisters, Lena Tucker of Bangor, and Flossie Harrington of Hastings; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the funeral home where services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, Rev. John Vick officiating. Interment in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to American Cancer Society or the family. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10-11 on Wednesday.
