KILLED IN ACCIDENT.
Louis E. Morlan, a resident of Pawnee city, was accidentally killed at Wray, Colo., Thursday evening of last week. He had gone to Wray to assist his brother-in-law in hauling wheat. The evening of the accident they were returning home in a truck. A radius rod broke and the truck overturned, crushing Morlan beneath it. He was dead when taken from under the truck.
Louis Edward Morlan was born in Franklin county, Nebraska, near Bloomington, February 11, 1883. There he was united in marriage to Miss Nora Brandt on February 22, 1905. To this union five children were born, Jennie, Ray, Herbert, Clara and Marie.
Three years ago the family moved to Pawnee City, where they have since resided. The deceased was known as a steady, hard-working man. He cared for his family in the face of any misfortunes and difficulties, and his sudden removal was a sad blow to the wife and little ones. He is also survived by his father and mother, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Paul C. Payne of the Presbyterian church and interment was made in the Pawnee City Cemetery.
The entire community deeply sympathizes with the bereaved relatives in this great hour of sorrow.
