Abigail Daby and Royal Dyer Joy were married around 1845 in Putney, Vermont. She was Royal's second wife. Around 1850, they removed to the state of New York, and resided on Green Street in the town of Jay, New York, near the village of Au Sable Forks. They spent the rest of their lives at this location and raised their children in a log home there. My *3rd Great Grandmother was Abigail DABY ~ JOY. She was born in Massachsettes on the 09th of September in 1825. According to her Death Certificate filed within the Township of Jay, Essex Co, New York, she died on the 23 of February 1909. Abbie's Father was listed as: *CHARLES DABY. Her Mother was listed as: Don't Know! ~How sad!~ Information was supplied by her younger son, Frank JOY. Please note the Death Date engraved on the Joy Family Tombstone for Abbie. It says Date of Birth: 09 September 1827, but that is not the fact. Abigail's husband was Royal Dyer JOY. They were married about 1845 in Putney, Windam Co., Vermont. They made their home on Green Street, upon a Mountain top, in Au Sable Forks, Essex Co., New York, where they raised all 15 of their children in their one and a half story Log Home. They were laid to rest in the North Jay Cemetery, within Au Sable Forks, Essex Co., New York, about 2 miles from our home. They leave behind numberous generations of the *3rd, *4th and *5th Great Grandchildren, including myself. I am their *3rd Great Granddaughter, Sharron Hewston, a Forks Native. 25 November ~2012~
