Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud, for LeRoy P. Poganski, 86, who died on Friday, surrounded by his family at Quiet Oaks Hospice House. Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate, burial will be in Assumption Cemetery St. Cloud.
Lee was born in St. Cloud, the son of Louis and Anna (Spaniol) Poganski. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. On June 26, 1948 he married Jean M. O'Hotto at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. Lee graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral High School and St. Cloud State University with a degree in accounting. Lee was a Certified Public Accountant and partnered with Don Cote in the accounting firm Cote & Poganski, known today as KDV. He was a member of the Minnesota State Society of Certified Public Accountants, St. Cloud Exchange Club, Wallace S. Chute American Legion Post 76, Knights of Columbus Council 961, and a member of St. Cloud Opportunities. He was also a member, and former board member, of the St. Cloud State Alumni Association, a member of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce and a long time Top Hatter.
Lee is survived by his wife, Jean, of 63 years; children, Paula (Carl) Hane of Plano, TX, Laura (David) Light of St. Cloud, and Greg (Grace) Poganski of Prospect, KY; grandchildren Christopher and Philip Hane, and Molly Poganski; brothers Roger C. (Joyce), St. Cloud and Louis A. (Bernie), Cottage Grove, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Victor.
