Leo J. Riberdy, 77, of 310 1st Ave., died last night at Albany Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
A native of Windsor, Canada, Mr. Riberdy came to his country as a young man and had resided in Idlewild Park for fifty years before moving to his 1st Avenue address a year ago.
During World War II he was employed at the Watervliet Arsenal, later working at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the maintenance department from which he retired 12 years ago.
Husband of the late Bessie Vincelette Riberdy, he was a communicant of St. Brigid's Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Arthur V. Fonda of Crescent, and a brother, William J. Riberdy of Detroit.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from the Cummings Funeral Home, 643 3rd Ave., and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Brigid's Church where a Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
