Highmore--James D. Scott, 69, of Highmore died Wednesday, June 19, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22, at the Ree Heights Community Church with Reverend Bart Bartel officiating. Burial was in Morningside Cemetery, Ree Heights.

James Douglas Scott was born February 20, 1922, at Ree Heights to Douglas and Elza (Shearer) Scott. He attended school in Ree Heights.

He married Phyllis Arbogast in 1943 and farmed and ranched in the Ree Heights area until 1965. He then moved to another ranch south of Holabird and worked for the Highmore Livestock Exchange until his death.

Survivors include three sons, Robert of Chadron, NE, Lee and Loren, both of Pierre; two sisters, Carol McClouskey of San Angelo, TX, and Alice Jean Lashlee of Abileen, TX; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, an infant sister and two infant brothers.
