ALVIN BERNARD (BINKY) BINAU JR., 62, a resident of Western Maryland Hospital, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born April 4, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Alvin B. and Myra Hawkins Binau .
He graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1963, and Strayer University. He attended Temple University.
He was employed with Archway Cookies.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Laura Marie Jones Binau ; one sister, Myra I. Binau of Hagerstown; three brothers, James Francis Binau, and John Richard Binau, both of Hagerstown, and Robinson John Binau of Waunaker, Wisconsin; a very close nephew, Douglas W. Jones of Williamsport, Maryland; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown. Rev. Christopher Moore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
Family requests omission of flowers, and donations to Mabel R. Walter Arboretum at Hagerstown Community College, 11400 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742-6590.
