RE: Israel Cross
Artie,
We are talking about the same Israel Cross. I am a descendant of John Cross, his brother. We are both descended from Solomon and Mary Keith Cross. I haven't checked everything that I have against what you have, but I believe we are in agreement that Israel's children were three: William, Solomon and Mary. I have extracted from Baltimore County Land Records the following:
1 Oct 1790 - Conveyed 54 a. pt of a tract called "Buck Range" to William Matthews. Wf., Jemima consented to the sale. BALR WG#FF/214. Roll 138-2. {On 12 Dec 1793 William Matthews and wife, Betsy Ann sold, this property to Valentine Wolf for £60. #NN/228. Witnesses were Barbara & Jacob Markey.}
6 Oct 1790 - Conveyed 47 a. pt. of a tract called "Partnership" to George Walker for 47 pounds. Mary Cross, relict of Solomon Cross, acknowledged her right of dower. BALR WG#FF/358. Roll 138-2.
You probably know that Israel inherited part of the property Buck Range from his father, Solomon. Now, there is no way that Israel Cross could be selling his property in Baltimore Co., Md. and dying in Illinois on the same day.
