1852 Canada Census lists her age as 40, 1861 Canada Census lists her age as 45, 1871 Canada Census lists her as 81, 1884 Michigan Census lists her as 76/96 - hard to read.
Her parents (proved through DNA match with 3 siblings) were married in 1804 so she couldn't have been born in 1790 which was determined by the magazine articles.
After her son Jacob Samuel Ostrosser (Ancestry American Civil War records lists him as Samuel Ostrasser) died of Typhoid Fever in July of 1864 in City Point, VA - she suddenly became much older right before she applied for his pension benefits.

Catherine Ostrosser married Phillip Ostrosser, he was born Abt. 1773, and died in the summer of 1864, in Gainsberry, Canada. Catherine died in Olive Township, Ottawa County, MI
