"Retired Plumber Dies Early Monday Evening - Elmer A Alsdorf, Aged Nearly 80 Years, Had Not Been Out Since Election Day - Elmer A Alsdorf, aged nearly 80 years, passed away at his home, 516 East Spruce street, at 8:30 o'clock Monday evening, following a long illness. Mr Alsdorf was out for the last time on November 8, when he went across the street from his home to cast his vote in the election. He had been gradually declining since that time, and confined to his bed for the past few weeks. The deceased was the son of Abraham and Louisa Alsdorf and was born in Spartansburg on April 21, 1853. On March 12, 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Hattie Binney, who survives him. Mr Alsdorf followed the plumbing business most of his active life and was engaged in that business in Oil City for twenty years. The family moved to Titusville in 1923. Besides the widow, Mr Alsdorf is survived by one son, Grannis Alsdorf, living at home, two grandchildren, Marie Alsdorf, living with the grandparents, and Robert Alsdorf of Bradford, a half-brother, Dewitt Alsdorf of Long Beach, Cal, and a sister, Mrs Ella Eldred of Union City. The body was prepared for interment at the Steffee funeral home in Oil City, and will be brought to the Paul B Kerr funeral home, 424 East Walnut street, today, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev Roy F Howe, DD, pastor of the First M E church, officiating, and interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetery at Spartansburg."
