She was born on November 13, 1923 in Hutchinson, Kansas the daughter of Clarence and Cora Beck Barnes.
Clara was an ordained minister and served faithfully at the formerly titled Full Gospel Chapel of Prayer for over 50 years, before her retirement.
On June 25, 1938 she married James Edward "Jim" Jenks in McPherson. He died September 1, 1992. On November 16, 1998 she married Dallas Ray Kimzey. He died on June 18, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Patty Widup and husband Harold, Richard Jenks and wife Virginia, Terry Jenks and wife Lela, and Cora Stokely and husband Jerry, all of Hutchinson; siblings, Viola Starks, George Barnes, Lorrie Forbes, and Buddy Barnes, all of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Don Jenks; grandson, Kenneth Aden, Jr.; and siblings, E.D. Barnes, Bessie Vater, Cora Lea Preston, and Billy Barnes.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Chapel, Hutchinson with Pastor Jerry Stokely presiding. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Friday, March 30, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
